Short Breaks for Adults with an Intellectual Disability, an initiative supported by Sunbeam House Services (SHS).
The Home Share Service supports people in the community to be a host to support an adult with an intellectual disability for short periods of time and include them in their own life. People can apply to participate in the service who are married, single, cohabiting or retired. There are no limits once they are willing and meet the assessment criteria.
Aims of the Home Share
• To provide short breaks to adults with intellectual disabilities.
• To expand individual client, social networks and experiences.
• To give natural families a break from caring & supporting
