Committees
Our committees meet regularly and their membership is made up of management, staff, members of the Board and independent voluntary members.
Board of Directors
The Board provides overall leadership, governance, and strategic oversight for the organisation. The Board is responsible for ensuring that the organisation is well managed, financially accountable, compliant with its legal and regulatory obligations, and focused on achieving its mission and strategic objectives.

Approved Housing Body Committee
Purpose of the Committee
The Committee oversee the governance, compliance, and strategic direction of Sunbeam as an Approved Housing Body. The Committee ensures that SHS meets its obligations under the AHBRA regulatory framework, protects housing assets, and delivers high-quality, person-centered housing solutions aligned with SHS’s Transformation Strategy 2025–2030.

Audit Committee
Purpose of the Committee
The purpose of the Committee is to support the Board of Directors by providing oversight of the organisation’s financial reporting, internal controls, audit processes, and compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements. The Committee helps to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective risk management by reviewing financial information, audit findings, and governance processes, and by making recommendations to the Board where appropriate.

Senior Leadership Team
The purpose of the Senior Leadership Team is to provide strategic and operational leadership across the organisation, ensuring that services are delivered effectively, safely, and in line with the organisation’s mission, values, and strategic objectives. The Team supports good governance by implementing Board decisions, managing key organisational priorities, monitoring performance and risk, and promoting collaboration across all areas of the organisation.

Management Committees
Employment Control Committee
The purpose of the Committee is to provide oversight and assurance in relation to workforce planning, recruitment, and staffing decisions across the organisation. The Committee supports effective governance by reviewing employment requests, monitoring staffing levels and associated costs, and ensuring that decisions are aligned with organisational needs, approved budgets, and relevant policies and procedures.

Purpose of the Committee
The purpose of the Committee is to review the housing needs of people we support, people who are referred for housing via the Referral and Transition Committee and to identify the suitable pathway for their access to housing managed by Sunbeam.

Human Rights Committee
Purpose of the Committee
The purpose of the Committee is to promote and protect the rights, dignity, autonomy, and wellbeing of people supported by the organisation. The Committee provides oversight and guidance on matters relating to human rights, restrictive practices, consent, advocacy, and supported decision-making, helping to ensure that services are delivered in a person-centred, respectful, and rights-based manner.

Referrals Committee
Purpose of the Committee
The Committee oversees and manages the process of Entry, Transfer, Transition and Discharge to the service, ensuring fair, transparent, and efficient access for adults with disabilities. The committee provides governance, guidance, and decision-making in relation to referrals, in line with relevant legislation, policy, and best practice.

Special Interest Groups
Purpose of the Committees
A Special Interest Group is an identified group within Sunbeam with a shared interest in advancing a specific area of knowledge, learning, policy and practice. Where participants cooperate to produce recommendations and/or solutions within the particular topic and may communicate, collaborate and organise the shared learning.
Membership of the Committees
Members consist of staff within Sunbeam with a shared professional interest in the topic or suite of topics. They will have tenure and/or who have been nominated through the recognition of their experiential knowledge, expressed interest and willingness to engage productively.
The chairperson will be assigned by Department Manager.
