The voice of our Service-User Forum
We are a group of adults who are part of Sunbeam House Services. We meet once a month to discuss and take action on issues that are of concern to us and our fellow colleagues. These are issues that affect our daily lives.
The situation regarding restrictions for prevention of the spread of Covid-19 in Ireland has changed again due to the discovery and spread of a new variant of Covid-19.
Please find, further below, an up to date summary view of the restrictions announced by the government on the 30th December 2020.
In the meantime please note that the current Day Care Services provided will proceed to reopen after the Christmas break as planned. However, given the nature of the latest variant of Covid19 we will need to review this on an ongoing basis and we will endeavour to maintain our services open based on ongoing risk assessmentsand government requirements.
Please ensure that you continue look after yourself and keep safe by maintaining social distancing, wearing a facemask where required and observing the infection prevention protocols already communicated.
If you encounter anyone with Covid19 symptoms or indeed develop symptoms yourself, immediately self-isolate, seek medical advice and inform your CSMs about it as soon as possible.
If you are double jobbing between SHS and another employment please discuss this as soon as possible with your CSM and refer to the current FAQ list (FAQ 32) which address double jobbing.
What are the Level 5 Restrictions announced?:
The Government announced on the 30th December 2020, the introduction of a full Framework Level 5 restriction across the country with effect from midnight on 31st December 2020 (Retail from close of business 31st December 2020).
At Level 5, the public health risk means that you will be asked to stay at home. (except for essential and health/social care work or reasons). There will be in general no gatherings other than small numbers at funerals and weddings.

Maximum of 25 guests up to and including 2 Jan; maximum of 6 guests from 3 Jan
Maximum of 10 mourners
At Level 5, the public health risk means that you will be asked to stay at home, except for travel for work, education or other essential purposes, or to take exercise within 5km of home. There will be no gatherings other than small numbers at funerals and weddings.
All other previous guidance regarding social distancing and infection control risk assessment tools and infection prevention protocols remain in force at this time.
Also please note that the arrangements within the current Level 5 restrictions are subject to government review and requirement changes.
