Friends In Deed is a befriending service aimed at connecting adults with a learning disability with members of the community in friendship. People of similar interests and ages are matched up and encouraged and supported to become friends. It has proved a valuable initiative in the community , garnering social spirit and goodwill. SHS are committed to maintaining the highest levels of health and safety for our employees, service-users and visitors alike. We endeavour to achieve this through site specic Risk Assessments, training, and providing an eective means of consultation within the organisation. Sta are encouraged and supported to report any health and safety concerns and the everexpanding group of 40 Safety Representativs ensure health and safety remains a focus for all.

SHS has various buses supporting services-users in north and south wicklow plus a wheelchair accessible Volkswagon Caddy. These vehicles include large transport buses used for transporting clients to and from their services on a daily basis, a number of smaller buses attached to the local centres to provide individual transport to social events, hospital appointments etc., and commercial vehicles attached to the workshops, training centres, supported employment service and maintenance. Regular statutory training for drivers and escorts is compulsory.

Sunbeam House Services employ one full-time and one part-time Chartered Physiotherapist. The Physiotherapy Department is based in Arklow and provides a service to service-users in both South and North Wicklow. Services provided include physiotherapy assessments, review, treatments and programmes, hydrotherapy, orthotic clinic with visiting orthotist, wheelchair and seating, provision and sourcing of equipment, aids and appliances, training support staff in service-user postural management and positioning interventions and manual handling advice and training.

Sunbeam Media is a section of Sunbeam House dedicated to all things media.

One of their roles is to manage our internet presence through the companies website and social media forms. Another role is to provide print materials such as brochures but the main focus is on video production.

We believe that video is the best medium to get your message across without a doubt. Our service-users enjoy many roles in our productions, such as, camera operators and editors, actors and presenters.
