Day Services
The majority of SHS service users avail of day services. The activities and supports in each day service are tailored to the abilities, needs and interests of the people attending, with a focus on developing skills and community involvement.
The Courtyard

This day service is based on the outskirts of Bray and caters for sixteen people. An on-site pottery workshop has allowed people to create some amazing pieces of work. Music classes are provided on a twice-weekly basis and enjoyed immensely. Other units are invited to visit and social interaction between groups is encouraged. Some people are working in a variety of jobs in the community with support from a job coach.

Le Cheile

Le Cheile is a day service which provides a variety of activities to enhance the lives of those who attend. It is a nurse-led unit providing a high level of support tailored to the needs of each individual. Le Cheile service users can avail of a respite service regularly.

Flexi North Wicklow
|
The Bray Flexi Centre is a weekday service which is attended by fourteen people, some of whom also attend other SHS services. People are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities in a relaxed environment and supported to get out and about. The main objective is to provide activities for people who no longer participate in work or more structured activities.

Flexi South Wicklow

The Flexi South Wicklow Service caters for twenty-two older people in the Arklow, Rathdrum and Carnew Areas. Based on a transport service which collects people from their home, they enjoy a wide variety of community activities. The Flexi Service provides people with opportunities to participate in the life of the community and to achieve their personal goals.

Glenvale

The Glenvale Day Centre is in Ballyraine, Arklow and caters for people with signicant disabilities. The sta team of nurses and community support workers enable people to be involved in a wide variety of community and centre-based activities. We have people volunteering in the coastal care group within Arklow and Tidy Towns. There is an open door policy for parents and families to visit the unit, and parents are encouraged to be involved in supporting people to achieve their personal goals People are supported to actively use the local facilities and are encouraged in community participation.
