Fashion Show

It was a great day down in Arus Lorcain in Arklow for the Fashion Show. A lot of hard work went into this very entertaining event.

Happy Hearts

Eimear, Andrew, Paul, Rachel and Nicole all braved the elements last Friday the 11th of May to volunteer their time to raise much needed funds by selling Happy Heart badges on the main street of Arklow, as part of the annual Happy Hearts Appeal.

Knitting Group

These photos are of knitted items from a knitting group in Ballraine Training Centre. The project is for Feileacain a charity that provides memory boxes for still births and to Premature baby units in Dublin maternity hospitals. The knitters are Shirley, Mary, Roisin, Tara and Geraldine.

Bike to Work

Tommy is a resident in one of our locations who learnt how to cycle a bike within a two week period. This was one of Tommy’s goals and he has successfully achieved his wish. Tommy is now cycling around town, five days a week!

Newcastle Airfield Trip

All the service-users in the DCB did some fundraising ; Halloween party, art exhibition and a Christmas raffle and made money for “The Laura lynn Foundation” and “The Purple House” in Bray. They did a great job. They presented the €1000 cheque to them last Wednesday. Another €135.12 was raised for “The Purple House” in Bray also.

Xmas Musical Performance

We had an excellent musical performance yesterday in the Taylor Centre. The band were real pros playing some of the finest folk and Rock n’ Roll this side of the Dargle.

CD Launch

Earlier this week Tommy Breen our music teacher and his bunch of amazing musicians launched their CD in The Old Ship pub in Arklow. It was a packed house for the performances and awards ceremony. Well done guys!

Garden Team at Xmas

The Garden Team are getting in the Christmas spirit, buying their tree to support the Laura Lynn foundation with a hot chocolate to warm up after! And everyone getting involved making the tree sparkle.

Chocolate Garden

On a recent outing to the Chocolate Garden of Ireland in Tullow, Grainne, Nicole, Keira and Emma, from Bri Nua, did a chocolate making workshop. They also samples some coffees, hot chocolates and of course some of the chocolates on offer.
